Carleigh Shanon: Duplicate Special Fun

P Scott showed us the tool Duplicate Special last week and it has been an obsession of mine since.

Start with a polygonal object like the one above, you can use the basic form but I have been adding subdivisions and exploring shapes through basic editing commands.
.

After exploring a few possibilities I apply materiality to the shape. This is helpful because once you get into the Duplicate Special tool your materiality will be applied to the overall form and you won't have to go back and edit each individual piece.

After you've applied materiality, then comes the fun! Edit>Duplicate Special. You can translate the space in between each copy, rotate the shape as you please and scale each copy as well.

Bring on the renders.
