Elsa Padilla-Final Images

This image shows my chaise lounge. A lambert material was applied to it with a texture image. The curtains were also made with a lambert and have a little bit of transparency. The floor was done by applying a material x and attaching a png. floor texture from 3ds max. Details such as the vase, table and mug were done by using some of the preset material x materials. The painting behind has a combination of a blinn and lambert. The material was applied to the faces since it was a single polygon object. Fore directional light, area lights were set with ray trace shadows and for the caustics a point was applied with no intensity but emiting photons. The image was rendered using a combination of final gather, ambient occlusion, and global illumination. A sky image was applied to the environment but because of the high reflection of the window it is very hard to see.

This rendering shows the bed. The comforter and pillows were all done by using lambert materials and attaching images to them. The small striped cushions were done by using a material map from 3ds max. The leather headboard is also using a leather map from 3ds max pro materials library. The same lighting effects were applied to this rendering.

This render was a bit more challenging. For some reason the lights would create this very hot appearance and dark shadows in the walls near. The lights were done with area lights and even if the decay was turned on and in quadratic the very hot effect wouldn't disappear.

The same lighting effects were applied to this rendering. SOme spot lights were added in the ceiling with a subtle penumbra cone to avoid hard edges. Ray tracing was used. The vases were made with thick glass in slightly different tones. The mirror was done by applying a dark polished metal int he frame and the mirror surface was made with a chrome with 100 reflectivity. The tv was done by applying a material x with the pearl preset in black to the screen and a material x with the glossy plastic preset in black as well. The ball vase was created by applying a material x with chrome and then applying marble in its bump to create a texture. The beige material that is repeated throughout the furniture is a material x with the plastic preset. This was to emulate the high gloss finish of laquered furniture.
