Xaviera C Glenn: Week 6 Materials

Above is the original Orb which had two materials applied which was white mia material x in glazed ceramic and mia material x in copper. The next to images were created by making changes in the presets of the mia material x.

The smoothed portion of the Orb which was once covered in the copper is now a more subtle gloss due to the glossy plastic preset. This preset allows you to see the geometry of the shape more clearly. The formerly glazed ceramic portions of the globe is now coated the pearl finish material. I have also lowered the glossiness of the material to give a more concrete-like appearance.

The overall look of this orb is metallic but is created through two separate settings. The geometric portion is coated in shiny metal to give the appearance of stainless steal while the other blue curves were created by having a base of thick glass then adding 90% pearl finish.

This form was originally covered in the glazed ceramic preset in the mia material x attributes. The second version however uses the anisotropic material type and i have increases the transparency as well as changes the transparency color to purple. The final version uses the mia material x again but was created by using the stain metal preset. Atop of that I added 25% glazed ceramic and lower the reflectivity to give the appearance of brushed metal or steel.
