once i had my object created we learned out to use the lattice tool. this is an image of my object and the use of lattice tool. i manipulated some of the "bridges." then i extruded the faces to create a structural system. this object has some good potential.

this is a poly torus, with a bridge command done to it. i also applied material x ceramic finish baby blue, and created the physical sun and sky.
